Neighborhood Revitalization Campaign
In 2008, Neighborhood Housing Services of New Haven completed an innovative Neighborhood Revitalization Campaign: our latest effort to bring together our partners and stakeholders to implement new strategies in stabilizing New Haven’s neighborhoods. The Campaign was comprised of three initiatives: the creation of a Home Improvement and Energy Conservation Laboratory; the development of a Home Maintenance and Energy Conservation IDA Program; and the implementation of a Revitalization Demonstration Project. Taken together, these initiatives combine the best national models with local experience to bring the most effective neighborhood stabilization and revitalization strategies to New Haven. The recently completed $1,225,894 Campaign is enabling NHS to mount its most ambitious effort yet to comprehensively revitalize New Haven's neighborhoods.

Implementing these new programs for the three-year period 2008-2010 required us to raise a total of $1,225,894 above and beyond our regular annual operating funds. NHS was awarded a Kresge Challenge Grant in support of our neighborhood revitalization efforts, and we successfully raised 100% of our Campaign goal in June 2008. Receiving the Kresge Challenge Grant enabled us to fund the three initiatives noted above; at the same time, our continued success is dependent on our ability to raise additional funds as our neighborhood revitalization initiatives continue beyond the initial period funded by the Kresge Grant. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to Neighborhood Housing Services of New Haven today. Your donation, at any level, will support the continuation of these groundbreaking initiatives and will make New Haven’s neighborhoods stronger, safer and more beautiful.
