Dept of Energy and Environmental Protection Gives NHS GreenCircle Award

Neighborhood Housing Services of New Haven received the 2010 GreenCircle Award from The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) for our work in benefiting the Connecticut environment. The 2010 GreenCircle Awards Ceremony was held Friday, December 9, 2011, in Hartford. NHS received the award for our state-of-the-art Home Improvement and Energy Conservation Laboratory, which is the centerpiece of our post-purchase homebuyer education programming and serves as a hands-on training facility for homeowners to learn to maintain their homes and conserve energy. With rising energy costs and limited disposable income, this has become critically important for homebuyers, homeowners and tenants to avoid unnecessary expenses.
