NHS and its subsidiary, the New Haven HomeOwnership Center, have accomplished the following through December 31, 2009:

• Developed 401 units of affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families (including both new construction and complete rehabilitation).
• Created homeownership opportunities for 224 low- and moderate-income first-time homebuyers.
• Helped 475 other prospective homebuyers actually purchase a home.
• Created (or assisted with the creation of) six block watches or neighborhood associations.
• Responded to basic inquiries from more than 10,000 clients expressing an interest in homeownership.
• Provided pre-purchase homebuyer education to more than 1,150 prospective homebuyers.
• Enrolled 811 participants in two IDA programs in partnership with Empower New Haven.
